Development News From Southwest Indiana
NEW LOOK, NEW NAME, SAME SERVICE
The Southwestern Indiana Regional Development Commission (SWIRDC) is pleased to announce a name change and new logo. Our new name is Quad County Development Commission qcdc.
Director Nancy L. Burns said the change arose due to confusion with other organizations with similar sounding names. We wanted something that distinguished the four counties we serve; Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick.
"People tend to mistake us for an economic development agency and that is not what we do," Burns said.
Among the services offered by qcdc are: ordinance codification, research, prepare and administer grants, provide local governments technical assistance, assist with identification of state and federal programs for local economic development and natural resource conservation activities, Brownfield identification and end-use planning, etc.
"Our affiliation with the University of Southern Indiana allows us to collaborate with a
variety of experts in many areas. We work closely with communities to provide
assistance at a nominal cost, " Burns added.
qcdc partners with other organizations on projects beneficial to the quad county area. Additional information may be obtained by calling 465.7067.
