WASHINGTON, Ind. (May 30, 2025) — Discover Downtown Washington, the city’s lead organization for downtown revitalization proudly announces the appointment of Brandy Weiland as its new Executive Director.
Brandy brings a strong background in leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement to her new role. As Executive Director, she will lead efforts to enhance the vibrancy, economic growth, and overall quality of life in downtown Washington.

Discover Downtown Washington is a proud member of the Indiana Main Street program, a statewide initiative through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs that encourages community-driven revitalization of downtown areas. The Indiana Main Street network is built on a foundation of passionate advocates, dedicated volunteers, and influential stakeholders who work tirelessly to spark local reinvestment, support job creation, and nurture civic pride.
Weiland’s appointment comes at a key moment for downtown Washington, as the organization continues to align with the Main Street Approach®, a proven framework developed by Main Street America. This strategy blends the science of understanding local economic dynamics with the art of placemaking — including historic preservation, storytelling, inclusive engagement, and creative marketing — to foster thriving, sustainable downtowns.
