SHOALS – A new hardware store is coming to downtown Shoals.

H&H Hometown Hardware will open in the HDMG (Heartland Development Marketing Group) building at 314 Main St.  The store will have a soft opening in early November 2023 with a grand opening celebration on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, according to a press release.

The new store will provide general hardware, lawn and garden, and home improvement products, as well as a variety of helpful services like custom paint mixing, key cutting, glass cutting, screen repair, and tool rental.

H&H Hometown Hardware will be the local resource and destination for both do-it-yourselfers and professional contractors within the community. Store owner Grant Sherfick is a 2001 graduate of Shoals High School with deep roots in Martin County and the Shoals community.

“I’ve chosen the name H&H in honor of my two grandfathers, Harold Fuhrman and

Howard Sherfick, both born and raised in Shoals and who lived their entire lives in Martin County. Harold was a farmer and small business owner, and Howard was a construction worker, craftsman, and veteran. Both men were dedicated to their families, churches, and community,” said Sherfick.

Sherfick has spent the last 15 years in the defense industry, mostly supporting NSWC Crane as a contractor, manufacturer, and service provider, doing everything from acquisition and product development to sustainment and logistics. “Shoals is my hometown, and I’m proud of that. The community has so much to offer, and I want to be a part of its continued restoration and economic growth,” he said.

Working closely with his co-op team at Do it Best Corp., a 100+ year-old Indiana based international distributor of hardware, lumber, and building material products, Sherfick’s new store will be a valuable addition to the community and fulfill its home improvement needs.
