Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth, Inc. will be offering a leadership course entitled “Legacy” Martin County’s Leadership Program, for people interested in learning more about Martin County and how leadership can benefit their communities, organizations or businesses. 2024-2025 will be the first year for this program and it was created by an interest in developing future leaders within Martin County. The mission of Legacy- Leadership Martin County is to develop leaders who will participate in the growth of the county and promote its development. As a program of Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth, Inc., the goal of Legacy is to create an understanding of how the county and communities work, increase leadership skills, and provide an incentive for leadership. In return, the participants will become even more effective leaders who will strengthen and transform their communities, organizations and the county as a whole.
The class will also work together on a project of their choosing, from ideas gathered from the speakers and /or Martin County Alliance, to show their leadership skills and must be beneficial to the County overall. This course will run for seven months. Participants will meet for one 7-hour day each month beginning in October 2024 and running through April 2025. A graduation ceremony will be held in April 2025. Attendance at all sessions is necessary for graduation as well as participation in the class project.
This year’s sessions will be held on: Session 1 – October 18, 2024 Session 2 – November 8th, 2024 Session 3 – December 13, 2024 Session 4- January 17, 2025 Session 5 – February 21st, 2025 Session 6 – March 21, 2025 *Graduation – April 2025 * Date to be announced at a later date. The cost for the program is $300 and only 15 individuals will be accepted into the program.
