The Orange County Economic Development Partnership is proud to announce the receipt of a marketing grant aimed at supporting workforce housing initiatives in the community. The funding, awarded by Duke Energy, is being used to expand marketing efforts for the French Lick Resort’s Klondike workforce housing development.
“We are grateful to be awarded this grant funding to assist in our marketing efforts for the workforce of Orange County,” said Skylar Whiteman, Executive Director. “It allows us to better reach prospective homeowners and promote the program that we have partnered with the Resort on.”
In addition to the grant award, OCEDP is celebrating the successful sale of the first six workforce housing units in the Klondike Workforce Housing Development. These homes are built by the French Lick Resort and sold at cost to employees of Orange County businesses who apply through OCEDP.
The project has been a collaborative effort between the French Lick Resort, the town of French Lick and its Redevelopment Commissions, and the Orange County Economic Development Partnership. With strong demand for affordable options, the quick sale of the initial six homes underscores the importance and impact of workforce housing in maintaining a stable and vibrant local economy.
Plans are underway for the next phase of the development; for more information about the workforce housing program or upcoming home availability, please contact OCEDP or email info@ocedp.com
