Jesse Belcher has been named the executive director of the Crawford County Economic Development Corporation. The decision was made November 17 by the Board of Directors of the EDC. Belcher had filled the position on an interim basis since July.

With 5-1/2 years experience with the CCEDC, Belcher previously served as project specialist and grant writer. He received his MBA from Ball State University in July 2022.

“I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve my home county over the past several years with the CCEDC,” said Belcher. “I look forward to continuing that service in my role as executive director.”

Exploring avenues to make Crawford County a more viable business community as well as an attractive place for residents and visitors are among his main areas of focus.

“I want to work to build connections with and assist our existing businesses, attract housing, attract new businesses – both internally and externally – assist county government however possible and improve the amenities available to our existing and future residents,” said Belcher. “I especially want to focus on things that increase the likelihood of our young people choosing to make Crawford County their lifelong home.”

Belcher’s office is located in the Crawford County Welcome Center, located at 6225 E. Industrial Lane, Leavenworth. He welcomes calls at 812-739-4479.
