In October 2022, New Hope Development Services broke ground on the White River Housing Development in Petersburg. Pike County Economic Development Corp. completed a housing study in 2018, which told us that we need 39-72 new residential units constructed each year to maintain the current population. Fast forward, we have a great partner to help us tackle the housing shortage, with New Hope Development Services.
We are excited to see their progress with these new duplexes, as they are designated for workforce housing, more detailed information will be available in Spring 2023. This is just one of the housing initiatives Pike County is working on to combat the housing shortage.
