Pike County Economic Development Corporation, with the Elmer Buchta Technology Center and Pike Central High School, are creating a pilot program with current Junior and Senior students interested in a career in health sciences.
The program includes a series of curricula focused on communication and soft skills. This unique opportunity will allow diverse experiences to prepare young people for the workforce. The series of courses will include opportunities to work on team building, one-on-one, provide more exposure to public speaking, build confidence, and learn how to interpret body language better to offer better care and bedside manner for patients and their families. We are excited for the journey ahead and, most importantly, helping our students enhance their communication and soft skills for their future endeavors.
